Megan Romo-Elliker—I had absurd love. Knee-weakening, heart-stopping, only-in-pathetic-fiction love. Then a private plane crash took my husband.

I don’t know what now.

I know I was dizzyingly happy with Jim as my someone. I know he wasn’t average and the loss isn’t small. I’m not sure I want to move forward.

Pretty sure I don’t have a choice.

So I teach yoga. I enjoy the family that’s left. I write some. I love my dogs. I live widowed and behave as a sort of accidental stepmother.
