Meghdad Jalali

Meghdad Jalali, an Iranian writer and director, was born on July 13, 1989 in Shahroud, Semnan Province, Iran. He graduated in computer engineering from Azad University of Iran. In 2018, he completed his studies in the field of cinema directing at the Young Cinematographers Center of Iran and completed film courses in Toronto, Canada.
In 2019, he made his first feature film called Mandali, and it shined in international festivals. His second fiction film called The Strait , succeeded in participating in the 45th Moscow International Film Festival, the 41st Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival in America (Oscar Academy), the 22nd International Film Festival Rome, Dhaka International Film Festival and... In 2023, he was nominated for the best short film of the year in Iranian cinema at the prestigious Hafez Awards ceremony.
