Washington, District of Columbia
I moved to Washington, DC after four years in Cambodia working for a non profit that improves public schools through teacher training and after school programs. My first introduction to Southeast Asia was through the Peace Corps in East Timor, where I worked on health education and small business development.
My MA is in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University. My BA is in History from Rice University. I studied in Ireland and learned to drink Guinness. I interned in Brazil and learned to dance samba.
I owe my love of cheese to my birthplace, Wisconsin. My love of tacos al pastor to growing up in Mexico City. I am certified to teach English and to scuba dive to 30 meters. I have won awards from the Cambodian government for my work in education and from the town of Centerville, Texas for my smile.
