Melanie Bishop
I have my Masters degree in Special Education and Social Studies Education for grades 7-12. I am a graduate of St. John Fisher College class of 2008. I worked for three years as a Special Education Teacher at Keshequa Central School in Nunda, NY and was able to maintain a 100% passing rate for graduation and 100% RCT/Regents exam credit for my students.
I currently work as an instructor for Literacy West NY, Inc. in Warsaw, NY with the Adult Basic Education program helping adults 16 and over complete the requirements for a GED and employment/post secondary training. I am always looking to enhance my knowledge in multiple areas. I truly love learning.
I am a member of the NYS Partners in Policymaking class of 2012 that is looking to raise awareness in NYS of disability concerns.
I am married to Brad Bishop, a US Army Veteran and the proud mother of two boys Conner, age 17, and Zach, age 14. In addition, we have two dogs, a golden retriever and a rottweiler, and two cats. I enjoy spending time with my family in my free time. We go to concerts and appreciate a wide variety of music. We go hiking, visit area waterfalls, riding ATV's, travel to various locations, and enjoy many outdoor activities.
