Melanie Esterman
Technical Program Manager in Denver, CO
Hey there! Let's start at the beginning, shall we?
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; I say "wooder." At the crisp age of eighteen I packed up and moved to the other side of the state to learn a few things at the University of Pittsburgh as a first generation student. While at Pitt, I studied Psychology, Communication, and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's studies. Following my graduation, I moved across the country to Phoenix. I lived there for about five years and I now reside in the mile high city of Denver, CO.
I spend my daily 9 to 5 as a Technical Program Manager. I enjoy solving problems, collaborating, being a resource for others at any level of the organization, and quite frankly - getting things done. My biggest strength in any role is my emotional intelligence.
When I'm not working, I spend my time doing a random assortment of things: hiking, woodworking, roller blading, biking around town, eating ice cream, and the like. I enjoy being outside and doing anything that gets me working with my hands. I'll try (almost) anything once!
Regardless of what I'm up to, I make the most of my time by interacting with the people around me. I'm a people-person, plain and simple. I feed off of the energy of others and value feedback. My motivational style of leadership has helped me excel as an employee, a coach, a public speaker, a mentor, and a teammate.
I have a philanthropic side, which has always been a pillar of my motivation. Most notably, I have continuously volunteered with Camp Brave Trails, a leadership development camp focused on creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth. I am always happy to elaborate on this if desired. It has been a life-changing experience that I'm happy to gush about.
I like bad puns, Parks and Recreation, all forms of potatoes, listening to whatever new music my favorite artists are putting out, and long drives (without traffic).
Ultimately, my goal is to help people. If you know a way I can do that, send an email over and I'll be happy to chat.
