Melina Koutsofta

Hello!

I study Theatre and Performance at the University of Surrey.

I am from Cyprus, where I spent a lot of my time dancing at a collective centre in projects promoting hip-hop culture and self-awareness.

I'm mainly experienced in performing -acting/physical theatre- and devising. I've also done some basic sound programming/operating ( QLab, GarageBand) and marketing and willing to learn more (Adobe Photoshop). In my essays, I've mostly focused on postmodernist ideas such as phenomenology, urban planning and gender performativity.

I enjoy reading, and I love adventures, discovering music, art, films and cool places. I also like to take a lot of pictures

One of my ambitions is to be able to create/be part of work that reflects my fascination with dream-like environments and atmospheres, 'otherness' and the surreal/obscure.
