Melinda Davenport is an esteemed Emmy award-winning executive and currently serves as the Vice President of Messaging and Talent Marketing at Equinix (Nasdaq: EQIX), where she leads transformative communication strategies at the intersection of tech and interconnectivity.

Prior to Equinix, Melinda held a senior role at Meta, spearheading a team of proactive communicators in one of the most dynamic environments in tech. Her leadership experience extends to her role as Head of Marketing and Communications for Kairos Power, an innovative engineering firm dedicated to advancing clean energy solutions.

Melinda’s earlier career includes broadcast journalism, where she anchored for WISN 12 News (ABC) in Milwaukee, earning multiple Emmy awards and recognition from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for her digital and social media presence. She has also held anchor and reporter roles at WMUR News 9 in New Hampshire, New England’s political hub, and at WCAX in Vermont and Quebec, where her impactful storytelling set a high standard for excellence in journalism.

A seasoned academic, Melinda has taught at Marquette University, Champlain College, and The Community College System of New Hampshire, sharing her expertise in communication and media with the next generation of leaders.

Melinda holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Northeastern University and a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston. Additionally, she has provided communications consulting for some of the world’s leading companies, including Halliburton, ExxonMobil, Total, and HCA, bringing her insight and strategic acumen to Fortune 500 boardrooms.

As an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Melinda is deeply committed to advancing the fields of journalism and corporate communication.

Beyond the boardroom, Melinda is a native Texan, a bass angler, and a passionate world traveler fluent in multiple languages.
