Hi, I’m Melinda. I’m a teacher living in Kansas City, MO. I'm a current TFA Corps Member and I am passionate about pursuing my interest in education equity. I currently teach 6th grade ELA at the Kauffman School in Kansas City. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE in December of 2019 and received my BA in English. I'm getting my MA through UMSL as part of my certification. I'm hoping to eventually pursue a PhD in education and want to educate future teachers on the broken system that we function in and try to continue dismantling it.

In my free time I'm a nanny, a finance adviser for a chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, and a CTL in Teach For America. I like to pursue leadership opportunities when possible in order to continue growing in my own education.
