Construction Project Development in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

My name is Melisa Ferreira. I'm a Calgary girl, born and raised. As a little girl, long weekends and summer vacations were spent camping and exploring the outdoors, both in Alberta and throughout British Columbia. My parents taught me that there's nothing wrong with getting a little dirt on your hands, which suited me just fine as a slightly tomboy-ish, not-very-girly-girl girl.

Fast forward a few years; my thirst to soak up as many new outdoor adventures as possible is as strong as ever. Trail running, triathlon, hiking, peak-bagging, river SUP-ing, ocean kayaking, alpine snowshoeing - anything that allows me the opportunity to reach out and touch this beautiful world around me.

My life straddles a funny sort of line. On one side, the girl most comfortable in a pair of mud-streaked Salomons, trekking poles in-hand, navigating a scree slope or dirt running trail. On the other, the girl who loves the ballet and any excuse for formal wear.

The Official Bio

I spend my days working as Project Development Coordinator, Southern Alberta for Clark Builders. In addition to design development of marketing, advertising, and proposal materials (submission packages, narratives, graphic design, etc.), my position affords me the opportunity to travel to our construction sites throughout Southern Alberta, capturing progress and completion images and fostering collaborative relationships with our field crews and sub-trades.

I'm also a passionate volunteer within the Calgary athletic community. I have a tendency to fill weekends not spent training or racing with finding a race or two to lend a hand at. Nothing makes me happier than encouraging fellow athletes. Nothing.

Also, I love cupcakes.
