Melissa is a rising star in the academic library profession. From being featured on the front page of a local newspaper for her work at a library in Peru to chairing a bibliographic instruction conference, Melissa Abbott has exceeded all of her professional goals in a short time. And she's just getting started.

At her small university library in rural north Georgia, Melissa finds inspiration everywhere and works tirelessly to bring people into the library. She provides instruction to students from freshmen to graduate in all disciplines, helps faculty and staff with research, and works with community patrons. More than just a reference librarian, Melissa is responsible for collection development and creating displays and events to bring users into the library.
