Hello Brides, and Welcome to Sweet Unique!

My name is Melissa Nickerson. I am the head designer and lead DIY coach for Sweet Unique Floral Design, as well as the owner of this small home-based company.

Throughout my career, I have helped over 2,000 Do-It-Yourself brides in Ohio design and construct beautiful fresh flowers for their wedding day. I can teach you too and help bring your floral dreams to life!

I have won many awards for my work over the past 10 years, and my designs have been featured on The Knot, Wedding Chicks, and other prominent wedding planning sites.

I got my start in flowers working for the Smith Family at The Flowerman Inc. in Dayton, Ohio, directly out of college in 2005. After several years, I moved to Columbus, Ohio with my husband and started a very successful DIY shop for the same owners called The Flowerman Columbus. It was a wonderful experience working for such a revolutionary and ground-breaking company!

In 2014, my husband and I moved to Cleveland, Ohio where we are currently located. We have been married 18 years, and together we have three beautiful and energetic children.

I have also assisted and worked over the years for designer Cady Vance of Floral V Designs, located in Oakwood, Ohio. Cady is an exceptional designer, and I have learned so much from her over the years. I am blessed to call the good people of both The Flowerman and Floral V Designs my dear friends to this day!

Surrounding myself with talented, kind people and beautiful things makes me feel most happy and content. Working hard and teaching beginner brides all about flowers brings great purpose and depth to my life.
