Melissa Monsalve
New London, Connecticut
Work: Special Assistant to the Director, U.S. Geological Survey
Studied: Environmental Studies and Sociology B.A., Connecticut College (Class of 2014) // The Mary Louis Academy (Class of 2010)
Goal: Work to make more beautiful, sustainable, and equitable cities for the future. And maybe become a photographer on the side.
Melissa is a native New Yorker (Queens girl for life) currently working in the Washington D.C. metro area with government relations. When she is not working, she likes to spend her time looking at life through her camera lens, dancing, or writing poetry.
Melissa is incredibly passionate about urban issues, particularly in reference to sustainability issues, resilience, and equitiable access to goods (housing, natural/green space, etc) for all residents. She has plans to pursue a graduate degree in urban planning/studies starting in Fall 2017, and hopefully back in New York City...or abroad.
