Melissa Baker

I am the Girls on the Run Program Manager at YWCA Tulsa. Through the Girls on the Run program, I am dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Previous to this new role, I was YWCA Tulsa’s Director of Communications for over two years where I promoted the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

I currently sit on the Board of Women in Communications as Members Recruitment Chair, a member of the Tulsa Run planning committee, and a Women of Inspiration Nominee Committee member. I have 13 years of marketing experience in both the non-profit and for-profit industries. I have received the PRSA Tulsa Chapter 2012 Award of Merit for my work on the YWCA’s Race Against Racism 5K, honored as the Tulsa Business & Legal News Class of 2013 Top 40, and recently was one of five Tulsa Shock/Williams Women of Inspiration honorees.

When I'm not working, I enjoy running (ran my first marathon - New York City Marathon 11/03/13 and training for 5th!), spending time with family (including fur kids) , and checking out the newest places in Tulsa.
