This blog is a collection of my uncensored thoughts starting immediately after the death of my son John. He died in his sleep suddenly in the early morning hours of September 18th, 2014. Autopsy results are pending. He was one month shy of 22 years old.
The loss of a family member is not new to me. My mom died when I was 21 and prior to this, it was the most defining and life shaping event of my life. A friend asked me yesterday, “How did you get through the death of your mom?” I thought for a while and replied, “I talked.” I talked and talked and talked and talked. I shared my feelings and emotions with my friends and they helped me through. This is a 21st century way for me to “talk”. I invite my friends to walk this path with me.
