Toronto (at the moment)

If you like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain,
if you are into yoga and you have half a brain

- I suppose that's one way to introduce yourself. And now, the time has come for me to give a brief background about who I am to the public.

I'm an avid explorer who has never been out of the country. I have, however, seen a bit of Canada. Currently I am studying journalism to make up my mind about where I want to go in life. There is simply too much to choose from. I have always had a deep love for words.

As we speak, my time in Toronto has been short (fourteen days to be exact); "street smarts" come at me from every direction. Hailing from Sudbury, Ontario, I am not what you would consider a "city person". I love curling up with a good book while the sun shines through my window - traditionally with a plate of food nearby.

Apparently the question of the day is "Why did you go into journalism?" Well, I lost my passion for Math in fourth grade and there were so many ever changing excitements happening in English that I decided it was a good place to plant my time and affections. I fell in love with everything to do with English (even Shakespeare despite his bad facial hair). Writing short stories, scrawling poetry, getting lost in the pages of a good book; they were all idyllic. So I thought, why not get paid to do things I enjoy? It would be a sad, empty life with being obligated to do something you hate.

Ultimately, I decided upon journalism because I felt it would give me a good basis for anything I wished to pursue in the future. There were many roads I could have chosen, but I walk the path of journalism for the spontaneity and the action. Lame, perhaps, but the truth nontheless.
