Melissa Rodriguez has had over 15 years of experience in the design industry. Her professional experience has taken her from Detroit to Las Vegas and now currently in and around Southern Pines, NC. Her career began at a residential design / build firm while she attended the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating with a BFA in Interior Design with honors, Melissa was immediately hired at a retail architecture and design firm ranked among the “Top 100 Interior Design Giants in the World” by Interior Design Magazine. She was involved in a number of high profile accounts including the design of Saks Department Stores, Tommy Hilfiger and Yankee Candle Stores. Melissa has also owned her own companies specializing in branding for small businesses, interior design and marketing communications. In addition, she partnered with a builder / remodeler in Beverly Hills, Michigan redesigning the interiors and exteriors of homes throughout Oakland County, ranked among the ten highest income counties in the United States. Melissa spent 5 years in Las Vegas at a hospitality design firm. She immediately adapted to the world of fast paced, high-end resort and casino design, managing award winning projects locally on the Las Vegas Strip, nationally and internationally. As Senior Project Designer, her most recent project included Crown Perth (formerly Burswood Entertainment Complex) in West Australia, an award winning $750 million refurbishment of the casino-hotel complex. Incorporating her expansive design background, Melissa’s philosophy is “design is about more than making things look pretty - thoughtful design has the ability to transform a space, greatly enhance the quality of day-to-day living (and working) and increase the value of real estate.”
