Melissa Kravitz

New York, New York

While being New York’s most fabulous resident consumes most of her time, Melissa Kravitz enjoys excessive amounts of reading, crafting, shopping, cooking, and befriending cute puppies. Melissa considers herself NYC’s ultimate pasta expert.

Melissa has a BA in Creative Writing with a concentration in Fiction from Columbia University, and a BA in Modern Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Because who said two Bachelors Degrees in liberal arts are less useless than one?

After working at Inside New York for four years (one as a writer, one as a web editor, and the last two as Managing Director), Melissa moved on to co-create NeuralPop in 2013, a NYC-based culture and lifestyle website for millennials.

She currently works as the assistant digital features manager at amNewYork, where she writes on newsworthy topics like noodles and fashion week.

Melissa’s personal blog has been nominated as Best Blog of the Year since 2007 (by her dad). It wins every year.

She’s been a regular contributor to amNewYork, Brokelyn, Bustle, Thrillist, Haute Living, Brooklyn Paper and worked as the New York Restaurants editor at The Daily Meal and Food Editor at AlterNet.

In the past, she’s blogged for Brooklyn Exposed, Food Riot, Joonbug, along with contributing to many other blogs and the occasional literary journal.

You can probably find Melissa in Williamsburg, looking beautiful, sipping iced coffee, and working on her novel about teenage girls who hate each other.

Follow her on twitter. Or not.
