Understanding that responsible guidance is necessary to enable a child to realize
his true potential, Melissa Eakins has always geared her teaching strategiestowards holistic learning that’s customized to each student’s basic capabilitiesand needs. Ms. Eakins has used proven methods like the Houghton-Mifflincurriculum that provides a comprehensive yet highly-integrated system oflearning for students. She has capably handled not only preschool, kindergartenfirst and fifth grade students, but has also demonstrated her capability to handletwelfth graders as well. Ms. Eakins strives to bring genuine zest for teachingto the classroom setting where she ensures multiple-level classes that allowparticipation among all levels of student capability and encourage respect of theequality of opportunities between all members of the class. She believes that theclassroom is the breeding ground for those who are to become future leadersof the country and the world, so she sees each individual student as a vital partof the classroom and strives to prove to each one that they are meant to dogreat things. She has capably prepared herself for this task by earning not onlya Bachelor of Science major in Communication, but also a remarkable Master ofEducation major in Curriculum and Instruction. Her choice of degrees has trulyprepared her to become a highly-successful classroom teacher who recognizesthe importance of state standards in the fabric of classroom interaction as wellas the inherent talent of each student to work through those standards. Ms.Eakins has substantially proven herself a gem of a teacher who has so much
