Melissa Gena

I began life as a corn-fed kid growing up in the Midwest. I lived mostly in Wisconsin, sometimes in Illinois, a little bit in Ohio, and I landed in San Francisco in 1995. I like it here and think I’ll stay. However, the Green Bay Packers will always be my true love.

Professionally, I'm a product person with an M.A. in Organizational Leadership and 18 years’ experience developing strategy and leading product development at technology start-ups. Among other things, I've co-founded a web hosting company, been the first platform developer at a mobile marketing agency, and the first product person at a mobile app distribution startup.

I have a passion for learning and a natural curiosity about subjects like complexity theory, cognitive behavior, innovation, decision-making, motivation and how those things impact human interaction with software.
