Melissa Hanson
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Hello! I'm Melissa, a journalist who lives in Greater Boston. I grew up in Tewksbury, Mass. and always had a love for writing.
I am a reporter at The Lowell Sun, the newspaper in the city of Lowell, Mass. There I cover the towns of Westford and Littleton, as well as breaking news and general assignments. So many people in the Lowell area have great stories to tell, and I want to hear all of them so I can share them with the world.
My previous work includes the Boston Globe, the Suffolk Journal, and the Tewksbury & Wilmington Town Crier. I worked at the Globe for two years as a correspondent, covering breaking news assignments. During my senior year at Suffolk University I was editor-in-chief of the school paper, running a staff of about 20 student journalists to produce a 16-page, weekly newspaper. I also worked multiple days a week updating the newspaper website. After my freshman year of college, I worked for a summer reporting human interest stories for the Tewksbury and Wilmington Town Crier.
For now, I am enjoying my work at the Sun, and can constantly be found on Twitter.
