Melissa Hausser

I am currently an enthusiastic junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeking a dual degree major in hospitality and tourism management and psychology. I plan to graduate in May 2016.

Presently I work at UMass dining services as a cashier while at school. I also maintain a part time position with Rafanelli Events Management as a Ready Staff Member where I assist with the proper running of high-profile events in not only New York City but the greater Boston area as well.

I am a hard working, organized, and dedicated person seeking a job in the hospitality field, with a concentration in event planning.

Event planning has always been a passion of mine since I was a young child. From pretending to plan tea parties with my friends, to now working with much larger high-profile companies, I have gained crucial knowledge in the industry quite quickly. I believe that I will succeed in this industry because I am very hardworking and see every situation as an opportunity to learn an grow. I love seeing the event unfold from the start to the final push to all the guests enjoying the hard work that has just been done. I tend to be a perfectionist and love working through every little detail there is. I know one day I will be a successful event planner and living out my dream job.
