I help schools and students celebrate, showcase, and preserve memories. It's possibly the best job, ever. I started out as a high school English teacher who just happened to be assigned yearbook (an awesome job to begin with), and fell in love with yearbook so much that I decided to pursue it full time as a consultant with Jostens Yearbooks in 2000 - and I never looked back.
Working with staffs to create their yearbooks is truly a deep-rooted passion. I have worked hard to become a specialist in all things yearbook- not just design, creation and photography but marketing, budget, technology, staff motivation, and more. I am an Adobe Certified Associate, versed in current social media trends, and a Certified Journalism Educator with the Journalism Education Association. I also am involved with various workshops across California, including the Jostens National Yearbook Workshop, the Bay Area Yearbook Seminar, the JEANC Journalism conference, Jostens Adviser University and more.
My goal when working with yearbook staffs is to make sure they create a book that they are proud of and excited about, to help make their experience as stress-free as possible, and to manage their program to be as profitable as it can be.
In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, reading (especially historical fiction), traveling, cooking, and cooking reality shows (they're addictive).
