24 year-old Melissa Keroack is an accomplished young professional who dedicates her time to the health sciences. She is currently in the midst of receiving a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Simmons College, a career she has been passionate about from a young age. At 10 years old, Melissa was injured while playing soccer and received physical therapy which, over time, helped her body heal. From that point on she decided she wanted to give people the same care she received and work as a physical therapist.

Originally from Falmouth, Maine, Melissa Keroack now attends school in Boston, Massachusetts. Throughout her academic career, she has shown admirable characteristics that have led her to success. As an undergrad at Simmons College, Melissa graduated in just three years with a degree in Exercise Science, receiving Cum Laude and Tri-Beta National Biological Society Honors. Upon graduation, Melissa was accepted into Simmons College’s Doctorate program, where she anticipates her degree in May 2015.

Through her degree program, Melissa has gained hands-on experience in the world of physical therapy. She worked in Outpatient Orthopedics and two practices, Jaffe Sports Medicine in Naples, Florida, and Coastal Orthopedics in Brunswick, Maine. From spending a considerable amount of her time at these practices, Melissa has gained a vast amount of skills needed to succeed as a physical therapist. Some of her responsibilities included: observing surgical interventions, providing daily documentation on patient files, evaluating patients, and strategizing for various treatment plans catered to the patient’s needs.

Throughout the years Melissa Keroack has proved that hard work and determination are the key elements that pave the way to success. She looks forward to working full time as a physical therapist in the years to come.
