Melissa Shapiro

As Wattpad's Head of Global Marketing, Melissa Shapiro is responsible for Wattpad’s strategic marketing, growth, social, PR, and branding initiatives. Before joining Wattpad, she founded Tioli, a strategic marketing collective working with startups of all sizes.

Prior to Tioli, Melissa led the Global Public Relations team at Mozilla, running all aspects of outbound communications, and working with agencies across North America, Europe, Asia and South America.

A seasoned tech vet, Melissa cut her teeth during the dot-com boom and has more branded t-shirts than can fit into a single drawer. Her favorites include an orange Firefox shirt from OSCON 2007, a unisex tee with the old Twitter logo, and her Yelp Elite shirt.

She holds a degree in Public Communication from American University in Washington, DC.
