Melissa Summers is a writer & change management specialist. living just outside Portland, Maine with her golden retriever, Ruby Bader Ginsberg. Like her namesake - Ruby is a feminist. Unlike her namesake - Ruby is not particularly wise.

She has been featured in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Detroit News and Free Press (where they published her phone number on the front page) among others. She also went on the Today Show to tell America she thinks it's okay to have a glass of wine while your kids play together. Turns out America does not entirely agree.

Her website, SuburbanBliss, launched in 2003, when her children were quite a bit smaller and she was a lot less experienced at the whole mom gig. Her kids are young adults now and really fun people.

Now she works as Director of IT Change Management at an education technology company, helping organizations navigate digital transformation without breaking things.

She translates complex technical changes into language people actually understand, builds adoption strategies that don't feel like death by PowerPoint, and occasionally reminds information security teams that publishing a policy on the intranet isn't actually change management.

She's still absolutely incapable of connecting to her printer without a lot of swearing.
