Melody K. Gerard
Instructional Coach, Trainer, and Curriculum Specialist in Houston, Texas
Born and raised in Dallas, I moved to Houston to attend the University of Houston, where I obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration. While a student, I joined the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Zeta Sigma chapter. I later earned a Masters of Public Administration from University of Phoenix, and am a current member of the Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter of DST.
After careers in internal affairs for a government office, bookkeeping, office management, and insurance sales, I began my career in education. I became a classroom teacher in January 2005.
After more than ten years of teaching, I became an instructional coach in August 2015. In this role, I write curriculum and assessments for secondary English, write and facilitate training sessions for teachers, and coach teachers in the classroom.
I live out my passion for children by being a member of the Board of Directors for PACE Youth, a nonprofit organization that helps turn around the lives of adjudicated youth, and provides support for the families of imprisoned parents.
I have had a lifelong love affair with language. In my spare time, I love reading and writing. A supporter of all creative arts, I also enjoy attending concerts and touring museums.
