Melvin is a cancer-surviving hip-disarticulation amputee from Malaysia who believes that everything is possible. Melvin is a Malaysia Book of Records holder for being the first amputee to conquer Mount Kinabalu, Malaysia. He is also named as Ball's Watch - Men of Substance 2010 in partnership with Men's Uno Magazine, together with 3 other amazing individuals. Melvin's was also selected by Fraser & Neave (F&N) in the category of Nation Building (efforts to promote and enhance a spirit of goodwill and understanding among the peoples of Malaysia in line with the tenets of the Rukun Negara) for the 2011 F&N's Out-Do Yourself Award (OYA). The award seeks to recognize and celebrate deserving individuals with an extraordinary outlook on life and inculcate a culture of recognition for truly outstanding performance.
