Southern Coastal Maine

Mary Elizabeth Nordstrom is a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance. The title poem was written while on vacation at Goose Rocks Beach, Maine, when the Nordstroms lived in North Carolina. A past member of her native New Hampshire Poetry Society, when she moved to Pinehurst, NC, she became a member of the Poetry Society of North Carolina that published "Unlaundered Cache" in their 60th Anniversary collection entitled "Here's to the Land", 1992. Since four of their five children live in New England her husband, Everett, and Mary Elizabeth now live in Maine. She leads a poetry reading group at Huntington Common, Kennebunk, ME, and is often called to substitute at pipe organs in Maine or New Hampshire. She writes as music critic for Performing Arts of New England that was developed by Classical Voice of New England, Inc. a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of which she was a co-founder. Mary Elizabeth's poems were written in New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina and Maine; she has not found any thus far that she wrote during the Nordstroms' 3 years in Massachusetts. Thus she cannot call herself a State poet, or a Southern poet although she lived in NC for over 30 years.
