Tim Mercer

I'm a 4th year medical student at Indiana University School of Medicine, a graduate of Yale School of Public Health, and an alumni of Butler University. I'll be pursuing a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency starting in 2011, place to be determined! Originally from Canada, I grew up in the small town of Auburn Indiana, with stints in Baltimore, Cincinnati, Bloomington, New Haven, Malawi, Kenya and Indianapolis over the years. For the past five years, I've been doing work in Eldoret, Kenya focusing on research and service delivery for street-involved children and youth. When I finally finish all this schooling and training, I plan on working in academic medicine and global health - teaching, providing care and helping build health care and social service systems for vulnerable populations in resource-poor settings.
