Meredith M. Allison

I am a former interactive producer for an awesome company in Chattanooga, TN called Medium. I love the internet, reading, art, music, and good food. I never leave my apartment without a book, and my hammock and vintage red bicycle are almost always somewhere close.

I graduated with a BA in Art in 2008 from Covenant College and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama. I quit my job to return to school because I want to be in a field where I can combine creativity with my passion for technology. Ideally, I would like to work as an art librarian once I have completed my degree.

My grandfather became legally blind later in his life. Watching his struggles and triumphs with technology exposed me to issues in accessibility. Thanks to my fellowship with Project ALFA, I am continually learning more about accessibility and issues in universal access. I would like to continue to explore these issues in museums and digital libraries once I graduate.

I am an organizer who is familiar and comfortable with technology. With my previous experience as a producer, I am good at managing processes with people in different places in order to get a project done. In my work with project management, I have learned that groups of people often bring together experiences and viewpoints that greatly enrich the process.

I always love meeting new people and am almost always online, so feel free to tweet at me, email me, or send me a chat invitation!
