Much like the brushstrokes of a painting, patterns of an embroidery, or lyrics of a song, I have come to learn life is similarly a compilation of events, an array of people, and moments of change that give definition to our days. All these things making up this bigger picture called life. This compilation of events are ever crystallizing into one unique story, a unique design, or a personal song. As an Interior Design major, it is my job to dive into the details. I have learned to define things based upon deeper conceptual processes and themes. Throughout my college career, I have been working, subconsciously, on a design project whose conceptual process are ever changing. This idea of a developing a theme, or concept, that goes beyond the studio, beyond the walls, and beyond sense of place. My own life. My purpose. My design.
I believe purpose goes beyond resumes, titles, and majors, even though this is how they teach you to define your days. My life is constantly evolving into something more. I am a fifth year student and former cheerleader here at UGA, who is learning to design her life beyond titles, and a simple resume. This past year, I have had five brain surgeries. I am learning life is but a design whose concept is ever changing; evolving to fit into hands that I, an interior designer, did not make.
