This is me. I'm an educational technology specialist and Google Certified Teacher from Arlington Heights, Il. I believe that technology should only be used in ways that improve learning. I have a master's degree in educational technology from Concordia University in Chicago and undergraduate degrees in forestry and German education. To me, technology is a tool just like everything else teachers keep in their toolboxes. It is not a panacea for everything in the classroom; however, it should be integrated into every aspect of teaching and learning to be effective. I believe that it is the passionate goal of every teacher to prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow. By focusing on the 4 Cs of Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Creativity, we can do what is best for our students' futures.

Besides working with technology, I am a mother to three beautiful children and two large dogs, organic gardener and worm composter, quilter, and nature lover. I recharge my batteries by spending as much time outside as possible and enjoy camping, hiking, and fiddling with my yard. I'm a restless explorer and constant learner. I'm a SciFi, home improvement, and realityshow junkie. I believe it is important to be civically engaged and socially responsible. If you ask my husband, I love to start things but don't like to finish them. But I would consider myself an enthusiast of just about everything. Most importantly, I feel it is important to keep a healthy work-life balance.
