Merlin Lauenburg is a German energy executive and Managing Director of Tibber Germany. He is involved in the development and implementation of digital energy solutions, with a focus on dynamic electricity pricing, smart metering, and demand-side flexibility.

He began his career in the Berlin startup ecosystem, gaining experience in high-growth environments at Rocket Internet. He later joined Viessmann, where he served as Head of Venture Development, working on the creation and scaling of new business models within the energy and technology sectors.

At Tibber, Lauenburg oversees the company’s operations in Germany. His work includes the expansion of digital electricity services and participation in industry initiatives related to smart meter deployment. He has been associated with collaborative efforts involving companies such as Octopus Energy, Rabot Charge, Ostrom, and 1KOMMA5°, aimed at supporting the rollout of smart metering infrastructure and flexible energy consumption models.
