Meryl Hellring

Meryl Hellring possesses over 15 years of experience in the marketing and communications field with demonstrated success in a sales capacity. Skilled in client-facing and development roles, Ms. Hellring also produces written content, presentations, web-based media, and a full range of promotional materials. At present, Ms. Hellring is the Communications Director for a nonprofit organization, Tickets for Kids, which focuses on providing local agencies that serve low-income children with tickets to Pittsburgh's premier sporting and entertainment attractions.

Meryl Hellring entered the professional world after graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, with an English minor, from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Ms. Hellring utilized her skills as a writer for the Times of Trenton, covering food, health, fashion, fitness and serving as the paper's theater critic. After ten years, Ms. Hellring transferred her services to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and started her professional association with the city.

With the paper for just over one year, Meryl Hellring next spent four years as a Realtor for Coldwell Banker, where she was the top listing agent for three consecutive months. Ms. Hellring's abilities led to a national start-up selecting her to help them launch their services, using Pittsburgh as their first test city.

In 2004 Meryl Hellring assumed the Group Sales Manager position at Pittsburgh CLO, a theater complex and arts education organization. Ms. Hellring developed several value-added theater packages, adding a new revenue stream for the nonprofit group, and developed a metric to provide a more accurate count of the theater's contribution to the local hotel industry. She continued promoting Pittsburgh's attractions as the Tourism Sales Manager for the city's promotional arm, VisitPittsburgh. Ms. Hellring was responsible for the creation and execution of the Take Your PIC promotional campaign, a marketing strategy that used traditional and web-based methods. She was also instrumental in developing the city's social media presence on YouTube.
