Meryl Press is a travel-lover, adventure-seeker, and self-proclaimed public relations, social media and news “junkie.” Meryl found a love of public relations through her passion for writing, desire to discover the “next-big-thing,” and through her love of journalism.
Over the years, Meryl has worked in many sectors of public relations including tech, non-profit, food, fashion, event planning and personalities through various internships, part-time jobs and full-time work. Most recently, Meryl worked as an Assistant Account Executive at the entertainment public relations agency, ROGERS&COWAN, where she had interned previously for two consecutive summers. In her time at ROGERS&COWAN, Meryl worked on publicity campaigns for high-profile talent and entertainment clients. Through her extensive time at ROGERS&COWAN, Meryl has perfected her pitching and writing skills and has fostered strong relationships with media contacts and beyond.
In college, Meryl spent two years in non-profit public relations with the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation working on social media and student outreach as well as closely working with the development director and serving on the Board of Directors for two years.
During her final year at the University of Arizona, Meryl interned with ProVentures, Inc., an integrated marketing, public relations and advertising agency on a wide variety of accounts including entertainment clients like the Fox Tucson Theatre, food clients such as Tavolino Ristorante Italiano and the Tucson Culinary Festival. Her duties at ProVentures included distribution of news releases, creating copy for radio advertisements, designing weekly customer newsletters, among others.
Meryl graduated from the University of Arizona in August 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Communication, Journalism and Judaic Studies.
Currently, Meryl is in her second year at the University of Southern California in the pursuit of a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Public Relations from the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. Meryl is an active member of PRSA-LA and is also working part-time at Squakin, Inc., a Pasadena-based technology company.
