IS MOBILE INTERNET IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SHOP?
Have you ever thought about the current and future market of e-commerce from mobile devices? More and more people are now equipped with mobile phones with internet access or smartphone (Iphone, Android or Windows Phone) and this huge pool of potential customers for your online store has even been given a new name. : the m-commerce (m for mobile).
At the risk of disappointing you, however, I do not think this market is mature enough to be worthy of interest to date. The reasons for this are as follows:
The comfort of browsing the Internet is considerably limited by the small dimensions of the screen of a smartphone and this lack of ergonomics does not favor the act of purchase.
The latest studies show that Internet consultation from mobile devices is currently limited to practical and punctual reasons (examples: see train schedules or cinema programs) and not to online shopping
Owners of this type of device also all have a PC, a mac or a tablet at home on which they will engage in online shopping
So I think that today m-commerce is not interesting enough to be studied in the context of an online store but we can possibly discuss it again in 2 or 3 years.
