Amir Sepehry

Psychologist in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

I have been introduced to the fascinating field of clinical neuropsychology (the study of brain and behaviour) during my undergraduate years, back in the 1999-2000. Ever since, I was focusing to understand the brain via multiple tools and perspectives; for example, as part of an undergraduate project, I have worked on Post Concussion Symptoms (PCS) in healthy individuals, and worked with various neuropsychologists on projects regarding head injury, and disorders of the mind. During my graduate training, I had the privilege of working with eminent psychiatrist, neurologist, and other allied experts using psychopharmacological and diagnostic approaches to better understand the brain and behaviour relationship. During my training, I have learned about evidence-based medicine and knowledge transfer techniques. Over the years, I have developed expertise in conducting/running meta-analysis and systematic reviews. Here are examples of my works: (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=sepehry+A). Also one of my works lead to an interview with Reuters Health [http://www.consultant360.com/story/worsening-depression-could-foreshadow-development-dementia].

In sum, I am a research-scientist at The University of British Columbia currently living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My meta-analytic interests are related to medicine and allied health. I am specifically interested in psychiatry, neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry, neuroimaging, and neurology.
