Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Metalworks Institute is a private career college that offers diploma programs and certificates in the entertainment arts. The school is the educational extension of Canada's largest recording studio, Metalworks Studios, which was founded by Gil Moore, a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The school prepares graduates for careers in the music and entertainment industry with leadership training and practical, professional experience in state-of-the-art facilities. Some of the programs that Metalworks Institute offers include audio recording, music performance, studio production, live show production, and entertainment business management.
Many Metalworks Institute alumni have gone on to be signed by record labels, launch freelance careers, join recording studios, and more. For example, 2006 graduate Noel Cadastre celebrated the success of one of his audio engineering projects when Drake’s “Take Care” won Best Rap Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
