I began translating part-time in 2006, right after finishing a BA in Language Teaching (4 years full-time of EN and FR) in Colima, Mexico.
Then, I started translating full-time in May 2012, just after finishing the MA in TESOL & Translation Studies at Aston University in Birmingham, UK (Merit).
Apart from having studied/worked in my home town, Colima, Mexico, I have studied and worked in San Diego and Minneapolis in USA (1-year EN course and 1 year as a Spanish langauge assistant), Paris, FR, (where I took a 1-year advanced French course), in Buenos Aires, Arg, and in London and Birmingham, UK -where I taught Spanish for 1 year and completed my MA in TESOL & Translation Studies.
In short, I have a solid local knowledge of the foreign cultures and languages I work with.

Apart from reading instructions attentively and using physical and online dictionaries, I use QA checks in CATs and create term bases which help me maintain consistency in large projects.
