How may I define myself? I'm a young French student in political science, interested in books, video games, animes, music composition and eventually politics. I'm naturally curious and open-minded.
But what a dull and vapid biography. And yet so many of us tend to think of themselves this way. No real goal in life, no point in your existence...only giving your characteristics, and explaining how you enjoy your life as a modern consumer. But where are your ideas? It's like Tocqueville tellings becoming true: "The first thing that strikes the observation is an innumerable multitude of men all equal and alike, incessantly endeavoring to procure the petty and paltry pleasures with which they glut their lives."
No, as a human being, I can't just define myself this way. I'm more than that. "My life has value!” to quote the outstanding 1976 movie "Network". I'm not capable of enjoying a peaceful but worthless existence.
Above all else, If I truly have to define myself, I would say that I'm a guy who thinks a lot and who doesn't want his existence to be a waste.
That's why I'm heavily politically engaged. I'm committed to my ideas. I spend most of my time thinking, consolidating my ideas, seeking truth everywhere. I'm on a constant journey to find out what our real problems are and how to solve them. I want to serve the general good, so that I can leave my footprint on this planet. That's what truly defines me.
PS: I'm working as a lecturer in a debate association called "Vox Juvenis" based in Lille. Everyone is welcome to our debates.
