Emotions are not to be mastered by orderly reason; they are rational, principled judgments in their own right. - Dacher Keltner
My highest values in life are God, family, and friends. I love the sound of laughter, to learn about psychology and trying to figure out why people do what they do, 90 degree weather and warmer, the beach, finding new ways to be green, laundry, learning tools of the trade for how to maintain a cleaner house, reading for the fun of it, TV on DVD or netflix, traveling, the feeling of coming home to my own bed after traveling, catching up with old friends and feeling that no time has gone by since we last talked, waking up to sunlight, girly drinks, receiving drunk calls and texts, heart to heart conversations, having so many pillows on a bed no one is sure where I sleep, new clothes, the feel of a just-out-of-the-dryer blanket, hugs, feeling respected, keeping my integrity, the way my husband Jeremy can't tell a funny story without laughing before he gets to the punchline, remembering the past, snail-mail, online list making, gaining a sister through marriage, jewelry - especially earrings, bookmarks, office supplies, beating my friend, Nick, at quizzes in which he made up the questions and the answers, calling all dogs puppies, my dog Madison, the cats Lucky and Lindy, babysitting Jer's cousins and our made up game "couch basketball", crying, podcasts, dancing - or laughing at myself trying to dance, working out, singing, happy endings, chick-flicks, encores, home canned green beans and pickles, orange juice, being stuck in traffic with friends in the car (it's almost unbearable otherwise!), praying that everyone is okay when an ambulance goes by, magazines, "therapagizing", writing notes in class, writing on my blog, the word perspicacious, princess stories, camp and retreat memories, youth group, painting my nails and using jamberries, that moment in movies or TV shows when a character proves himself/herself a "good" person, and so much more!
