Martha Frish

Chicago, IL

Prior to starting the first Chicago Jane’s Walk in 2013 under the auspices of Friends of Downtown, Martha served as an Instructor in Historic Preservation at the School of the Art Institute and as a Senior Program Officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

She has extensive nonprofit experience in advocacy, strategic planning, fostering new partnerships, market analysis and financial analysis. In addition, she has taught classes in urban planning and real estate development and worked as a real estate development consultant in New York and Chicago.

Active in the community, Martha is now President of Friends of Downtown. Concurrent with events in 134 other cities, Jane’s Walk Chicago has brought hundreds of Chicagoans out onto the streets for exciting place-based learning about the history and neighborhoods of Chicago.
