Mhlengi Linda Dumisa

Mr Mhlengi Linda Dumisa is a curious and hardworking Bachelor of Education Honours in STEM (ICT) Education student at the University of Johannesburg. He has recently completed his Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and FET at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Economics, School ICT Support, and Economic and Management Sciences. Mr Dumisa’s passion lies in bridging the gap between technology and education. He is passionate about making an impact in the education field by teaching using ICTs in education, which are known to support learning and make learners actively engage in their learning. He furthermore aspires to pursue a Master's degree in ICT Education to make a difference through groundbreaking, meaningful research.
While studying for his undergraduate degree, Mr Dumisa has been a Golden Key award recipient for two consecutive years (2022 and 2023). He also participated in the 4th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference hosted by the University of Johannesburg Library 4.0 in collaboration with the Academic Development Centre. Our study was titled “Economics Pre-service Teachers' Perceptions on the Use of Gamification to Enhance 21st-Century Skills When Teaching Inflation Topic During Micro-lessons.” Furthermore, he was also announced as the top student in Methodology and Practicum: School Role ICT Support 3A for the first semester of 2024. He achieved all this by being a committed, hardworking student since he started studying at the University of Johannesburg.
Mr Dumisa has also been previously appointed as an Academic Tutor at the University of Johannesburg for Teaching Studies 2B (TST20B2) and School ICT Support 2B (ITS20B2) for the 2024 academic year, Teaching Studies 1A (TST10A1) and Teaching Studies 2B (TST20B2) for the 2025 academic year, and Teaching Studies 1A (TST10A1) Methodology & Practicum: S Role School ICT 3A for the 2026 academic year. He has also previously served as an Examination Assistant at King Cetshwayo District (Department of Education) in KwaZulu-Natal for four consecutive years, 2022-2025, during his December holidays. He has also served as a Tutor Coordinator for the Faculty of Education (APK).
Moreover, Mr Dumisa has recently been appointed as an Online Learning Experience Designer (OLED) at the University of Johannesburg's Centre of Academic Technologies and is currently the facilitator of the University's free SLP, Ms Excel for the Workplace.
Lastly, Mr Dumisa volunteers to tutor secondary school learners in Accounting, Computer Applications Technology (CAT), Economics, and Mathematics during his free time. He also likes playing board games and listening to music during his free time.
