M'Hogany
Under the name of M'Hogany, Maryanette Beal has finally pushed herself to put her thoughts to paper! As the middle child of 3, creativity started at a young age. An avid poem writer, her mother realized early on that writing was her way of communicating. "Although my mother figured at times that I was anti-social, she noticed that I would write so much on paper about my feelings or thoughts." Growing up she wrote about what she encountered, not to be published for others to read, but just to have a voice. "I always looked at writing as a way to voice my emotions without being lashed at for saying something or looking a certain way. I was never one to have a diary either. It was just too girlie for me lol". During high school she maintained the tendancy to write and keep to herself. With a musical background, she became known throughout her high school for singing be it JROTC, Theater Arts, or Choir. Upon graduation she was also voted Senior Class "Most Talented". " Being that my grandmother is the musician at our church, singing wasn't really an option. If I were to give birth, music would be my child lol". After graduation, Maryanette joined the US Army, yet she never stopped putting her thoughts on paper. Later on she started to write short stories and plays for fun. After reading APF Sisters by Zane, her creative juices seemed to go into overdrive. "I've always written stories, but once I read a Zane book I noticed howcreative I could really be!". Years after her seperation from the military and solidifying a career in medicine, she's decided to once again GET BACK TO WRITING! "I let too many people deter me for years about writing, and I have a creative mind with stories that'll get one thinking!". She's now working on her debut novel entitled Couch Confessions! coming soon." I'm nervous, excited, and anxious all wrapped in one!" Now's the time for her to show what's she's made of!
