I was also in charge of product measurement, to measure the specs of product pieces to ensure they fit the parameters for passing product, and compare them to the product blueprints.

When I first started at Alcoa I worked in our packing department. After a while I was moved to our console operator station and then to our line control department. When my training there was complete, I was moved to the material handler position where I operated a forklift to move and stage rolls of painted metal. A few months later I moved to the highest position on the line just under our team lead, Extruder Operator. My duties there included maintenance and operation of our extrusion die. I was also in charge of unloading our material from rail cars into our silos.
