As a relationally-trained therapist, I specialize in working with clients by using a systemic perspective. This means that we will explore a client’s relationship to themselves, to others, and to society as a whole. I encourage clients by remaining curious about their experiences and allowing them to be the experts of their own lives and identities. While my specialties lie in relationships, polyamory/non-monogamy, and kink/BDSM, I am ready to learn about your unique perspective, whatever that is!
In 2017, I graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies. In 2022, I received a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from Purdue University Northwest. Throughout my experience as a practicing clinician, I have found ways to marry my undergraduate and graduate experiences in a way that honors clients’ perspectives and connects the stories that arise in therapy to overarching themes and systems of influence.
My therapeutic approach is based in narrative and feminist therapies and focuses on the strengths that the client brings to the therapy room. I often use queer, phenomenological, and critical race theories when conceptualizing cases and focus on intersectionality as it relates to my clients and the therapeutic process. Collaboration and transparency are the main tenants of my practice; checking in with clients and holding space for their concerns and goals is at the center of my practice.
Because I so strongly believe in the collaborative nature of therapy, your experience in the therapy room is of the utmost importance to me. I will check in to make sure we are achieving the goals that are most important to you. By taking this client-centered approach, I hope to hold space for you and all identities you bring with you. Therapy works when you feel it does, and I want to make sure that all parts of you are feeling seen.
MORE ABOUT ME
I identify as queer--the fluidity that it affords me is integral to how I understand my own experience. In my free time, I enjoy chatting with friends, doing puzzles, and reading. I have recently gotten into tarot as a tool for self-reflection and try to engage in various art forms to ground myself often.
