Mia Dunlap

Born in the Chicago and raised in the Robert Taylor Housing Projects, I have trodded the path that has stretched, strengthened and secured me. Recognizing early on that God had a special calling on my life, I decided, at the age of ten, to devote myself to a Christian walk, even though neither of my parents were religious affiliates. In fact, it was at the age of six that my parents were unable to emotionally and mentally parent me. After wading through their life challenges for seventeen years, when turned twenty-two, they became a functioning part of my life. I'd missed them but had gained a wealth of resilience, intergrity and grit in their absence. I held on to dear life and because my success was a matter of life and death. I chose to live.
