As a social entrepreneur, Mia Howard holds the deep belief that the key to creating sustainable positive change in resource poor communities is a meaningful investment in education. Mia brings a wealth of experience to her work in urban education and has worked in the fields of law and finance across the business, non profit and government sectors. Mia believes that a substantial foundation in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership is pivotal to life success. Mia is Lead Founder of Intrepid College Preparatory School, a proposed charter school for scholars in grades five to twelve in Nashville, TN. Fully informed by Mia's myriad experiences on Wall Street, Intrepid College Prep is designed to equip every scholar with the academic foundation, financial literacy, and ethical development necessary to excel in selective colleges, earn professional opportunities, and demonstrate positive leadership. Mia is currently a Fellow at Building Excellent Schools, a highly regarded non-profit dedicated to the creation of high-quality college preparatory charter schools. As a Fellow, Mia has deep and continuous access to the highest performing charter schools in the country. The best practices of these schools have strongly informed the design of Intrepid College Prep. Mia is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and University of Pennsylvania Law School.
