Hello Friend!

Whether we’re meeting for the first time, current business acquaintances, or long-lost friends, chances are I am CREATING. Creating is my heart’s truest passion. My creative spirit catapults me from one pursuit to the next. There is a natural restlessness that accompanies my deep curiosity and desire to learn tons... and do even more.

My career started as an industrial engineer at The Timken Company. My knack for designing and implementing creative solutions was my strongest asset throughout my career. I obtained over 15 years of professional experience at Timken, applying the virtue of creativity to software programming, analytics, sales and operations management, and talent leadership. I was enjoying a successful career, but I wanted to do something more passion-leaning, and personally fulfilling. So, I left the corporate world to be my own boss.

I am an entrepreneur. Currently, I work as a Garment Maker under the brand M. Escoe, which I founded in 2020. M. Escoe is a home-based sewing studio. My interest in sewing started out as a quest to incorporate fiber art pieces in my home décor projects. However, the Covid pandemic and the need for masks (of which I made TONS), kickstarted my desire to take sewing much more seriously and discover all of the things I could possibly make. Shortly into the discovery, I fell in love. And, as most love stories go, I could see nothing else. Today, I design and sew custom garments for individual clients (as well as myself - as much as I can). My hobby is also my jobby and my studio is truly my happy place.

I am also very active in the maker community, as the Organizer of Chicago Sews MeetUp group. Chicago Sews (originally created in 2017) is a meetup social group for all sewists, from novice to professional. It created to provide a platform and virtual home, wherein people can learn, grow, and connect with other sewists throughout Chicagoland. We host a couple of meetup events monthly (both in-person and virtual), and endeavor to serve as an educational, informational, and inspiring resource for our sewing community I am proud that our membership has tripled, since being asked to take over as Chicago Sews' custodian in 2021!

Whether I am in front of my camera modeling a new garment, having fitting sessions with clients, or on stage (yes – I do that too, as a singer), I am CREATING. It’s what I truly love to do. Thanks for reading my bio!
