I went to Antarctica on a whim. One sharp breath standing on the frozen ocean at Pegasus Ice Runway outside McMurdo Station in 2007, and I knew that I would never really leave.

Since that austral summer, I've spent 32 months on the ice as a support worker for the US Antarctica Program. My last deployment-- a full year at Palmer Station-- ended in October 2012. Check out my weekly logbook, Thrills & Chills.

I took a few months off to bike tour eastern Mexico and Guatemala, stopping to dive along the Yucatan before cycling through Sierra de los Cuchumatanes.

After returning to the States, I started building an online project called Open Antarctica dedicated to collecting and sharing a grassroots perspective of live on the continent.

I'm always up for an adventure related to Antarctica, even if it doesn't require physical travel! Please get in touch with questions or ideas. Cheers!
